Old school favorites are what make Austin such a special food city. Everything is bigger in Texas, and bold flavors are no exception. Sure, there are some really incredible restaurants popping up around town on the regular, but I can't help feel nostalgic for my old school favorites from the mid-2000s. All our recommended restaurants were go-tos for date night, evenings out with friends, and show stoppers to take out of town guests when we lived in Austin.
