Yale in the Fall
New Haven in the Fall is the perfect place to reset for a new (school) year ahead, take in some fall foliage, eat the best pizza in the USA, and live out your Gilmore Girl fantasies. My most recent trip to Yale was to visit a grad student who was studying business and a majority of our trip was centered around imbibing like 20 year old undergrads. Luckily, despite the rain, we were able to break away from the bars and house parties, to get outside and explore the Yale campus. In a New York Times article, Paul Goldberger talks about how a person "can see some of the best American architecture of the last hundred years in a single afternoon" but I am especially drawn to the Gothic Revival and anything that reminds me of Rory's fictional Yale life.

Eating in the cafeteria was not on our Yale agenda and we just had to have Italian food in the "Little Italy" of New Haven, Wooster Street. New Haven is known for their pizza and top of my must-try list is
Frank Pepe's, even though it's not part of the Gilmore Girls tradition. The New Haven pizza joint is said to be the best in the USA with their white clam pizza taking the top spot. To complete the holy trinity of New Haven dough, next time we'll stop by
Sally's Apizza and
Modern Apizza too! Also food famous, is
Louis' Lunch, who's claim to fame is that they invented the hamburger.
