I believe they made the first anniversary gift the easiest for a reason. You get hooked on buying your spouse a specific gift, made out of a specific material, and then as it gets harder and harder to come up with ideas, you are already invested and just keep at it 😂 (In actuality, as each anniversary passes, the gift's substance and significance increases as you strengthen your relationship, but I like my version too). The first anniversary gift is paper and I decided to reward Matt with the paper gift of tickets to a Jets game. We had REALLY good seats and favorable weather so I would call anniversary gift number one a success!
NJ Transit operates numerous trains to the Meadowlands so transportation to the stadium from NYC was extremely easy. We arrived early so we could explore the area and have a few drinks before walking DOWN to our seats, only a few rows from the field. I still cannot get over how good these seats were.
Another benefit of arriving early was that we were seated and ready to go when the team made their entrance onto the field. I was in possession of season tickets to the Buffalo Bills for years and we never made it into the stadium in time for the opening fanfare. Tailgating is enjoyable, but there is something to be said for taking the train and having your food & drink in the stadium instead.
I don't remember if the Jets won or lost but I do remember the time we spent together and the new experience we were able to share. We're heading back to Metlife Stadium this November and lucky for me, the Jets will host the Bills and I'm sure I'll remember who wins this game :)
