Tulip Heaven in the Pacific Northwest
My close friends know me so well. If there is a flower festival near their home, they are going to invite me. Courtney invited me back to Rochester for the Lilac Festival and Alyssa invited me to Portland, OR for the Tulip Fest. The Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm has been around since the 1950s and is a family run farm with a festival each year (March 17 - April 30 for 2023). In 2022, Alyssa invited me out to visit with her family and we planned the trip around the tulip fest and when we thought the flowers would be in peak bloom. To say this farm is magical would be an understatement. Row upon row of brightly colored tulips cover over 15 acres of farm land. I had no idea there were so many varieties of tulips and picking my favorite would be impossible. I hope to visit again this year, but in the meantime, enjoy the eye candy.
