bbg fall rose garden

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "There is simply the rose; it is perfect in every moment of its existence".  Truer words have never been spoken in 3 of the 4 seasons at the Cranford Rose Garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.  While the garden is in its full glory in the summer month of June, a sunny Fall day is another perfect time to take in the beauty of the rose (and marigold, dahlia, etc.).  Wander through the garden with me on a warm day in early October.

The rose garden dates back to the late 1920s and has been one of the most popular attractions at the botanic garden every since.  Some of the rose that are in bloom today were planted when the garden was created, a fact from the website that completely blows my mind.  I am a member of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (it is one of my top ten favorite things in NYC) so expect to see photos of the various gardens at different stages throughout the year.  Every time I visit I see something beautiful and new.
