yes way Crozet

 Crozet wine country

Listing the places we love most in the US, Charlottesville, VA and the surrounding wine region takes one of the top spots.  We visit yearly and are constantly looking for property to hopefully one day retire in the region.  In the meantime, here's a picture perfect Summer Saturday in the adorable town Crozet, VA.

After spending previous days in downtown Charlottesville, it's time to head out of town to Crozet, about 40 mins outside the city center.  Prior to our mini-road trip, we stocked up on coffee and pastries to fuel ourselves for the adventure ahead.

Stop one on the wine tour is our favorite place, King Family Vineyard.  We're wine club members so are gifted free tastings and discounts on snacks and bottles of wine.  The vineyard is also a polo field and on non-sporting days, the horses are hanging out in the barn, eager to interact with the patrons.  I could walk these grounds every week and never tire of their beauty.  The wine is superb as well and our most loved bottles are the Meritage and the Crozet Rose.

Next on the agenda, is a walk through the little bitty town of Crozet.  For such a small downtown, it packs in a lot of art and all the necessities - a coffee shop, bookstore and pizza place!

The final stop on our Summer Saturday in Crozet is Veretos.  You can grab a bottle of wine inside and pick a picnic table on the sprawling grounds.  This summer day was super humid so we opted for a seat in the tasting room to remain cool.  Either way, the wine was refreshing and the company splendid!

There are so many entertaining wineries in the Charlottesville region, that you can pick a few and make your own Summer Saturday.  Or do like we did, and drink Crozet all day!
