I'm crying architectural tears as I write this because, as of October 2024, the Fotografiska Museum is closing its Park Ave location. While the museum promises to reopen in a new location, I'm saddened by the thought of not stepping inside this glamorous building again. The space is perfect for a photography museum because the space itself is more than photo worthy. The light filled top floor creates incredible shadows and the bar and restaurant have captivating vibes. The main lobby, which also serves as a gift shop, coffee shop and wine bar, is stunning. The first time I walked by the building, I stopped in my tracks and had to immediately Google the use of the space, to see if I could go inside. When I discovered it was a photography museum, I was smitten. When I learned it was also the location Anna Delvey frauded a hundred rich old men to buy, I loved it even more. I love you 281 Park Ave! (And I love you Fotografiska Museum so please come back somewhere new).
