fall vibes in Spokane, WA

Autumn is one of the best times of the year to check a new destination off the travel bucket list.  Blue skies, crisp air, and vibrant foliage made for an impeccable first trip to Spokane, Washington.  We embarked on the cross country trek for the wedding of a dear friend and really enjoyed spending our free time in this idyllic college town.

We chose the Davenport Grand for our accommodations and greatly admired the room and amenities.  The location was perfectly located next to Riverfront Park and only a few short blocks from the downtown shops and restaurants.  Matt and I spent the first day of our trip wandering through the beautiful grounds of Riverfront Park, admiring the fall foliage and all the quirks that make the park uniquely Spokane.

Downtown Spokane

On day two of the long weekend, we wandered the streets of downtown, popping into local shops and wineries.  A quick walk through the main public library gave us this splendid view of the multicolored chandelier.

A few of my favorite shops and cafes in Spokane were Atticus Coffee and Gifts (we were there 3 days in a row!), Auntie's Bookstore, and Madeleine's Cafe & Patisserie.  We also spent time in Garden Party bar and a few of the downtown wineries.  Shop local, always.

On our last day in the city, we hopped and Uber to Gonzaga to explore the campus and immerse ourselves in the college lifestyle (even if it was for only a few hours!).  The campus was stunning in all it's fall glory.  A beautiful place to earn a college education.

A beautiful weekend, celebrating the marriage of our beautiful friends, in a beautiful city.  I love visiting new cities in the Fall!
