Home of the Grape Pie and a Perfect Fall Day
Oh Naples! The cutest little town on Canandaigua Lake. Home of grape pie, Inspire Moore Winery, and one of the Finger Lakes' best streetside markets, Joseph's Wayside Market. Come along for an Autumnal day in Naples, NY.
Stop number one is for lunch at Root's Cafe. The cafe is situated inside cute blue and purple house and each room is a different space to explore. Root's Cafe specializes in scratch made, locally grown, farm to table, meals and the decor feels like you're lunching at grandma's house, in the best possible way. I'm partial to the tuna melt and their amazing dill fries. The ambiance inside is darling and the views outside are of vineyards so everywhere you look is appealing. This is one of my favorite places to eat lunch in the Finger Lakes!
After filling your belly (and creating a base) it's time for wine tasting at Inspire Moore Winery. The winery is a hop, skip, and jump from the cafe and shares the same vibrant color palette. Inside, you can see how the vine is fermented and learn about the different vintages, but outside, on the porch or the patio, is where the real beauty lies. On a fall day, the views are breathtaking and I could willingly spend all day here!
Next on our itinerary is a stop at Joseph's Wayside Market where you can peruse multiple grape varieties plus all the fall harvest Upstate NY has to offer. There are fluffy lions mane mushrooms, pink pumpkins, all the fall squashes, apples, pears, and so much more. Bring an assortment of bags because you're going to want to buy it all!
On your way out of town, be sure to stop at one of the most unique shops in all of NY, The Wizard of Clay, in Bloomfield, NY. This pottery store is packed with handmade fire clay mugs, dishes, vases, and other vessels. The wares are beautiful and noteworthy but the actual building is also a rare domed shaped building that makes the entire experience that much more exciting.
One last breathtaking view of Canandaigua Lake in the fall before heading back home. Bye for now, Naples!
