Chicago is one of the best cities in the country to holiday (and live) and the architecture alone is worth the visit. One of the most stunning piece of architecture, both inside and out, is Union Station. Called Union Station because it was built by a union of four railroads, it is the 3rd busiest rail station in the US with 300 trains a day. I've only taken the train out of Chicago a few times, but enjoy a walk around the Great Hall whenever possible. And fun fact, Union Station was complete in 1925 so this year is the 100 year anniversary. Happy Birthday Union Station!
One of my favorite place to travel from Union Station is Arlington Park. See some of my past trips to the races here.
