While Spring may not officially be over until the end of June, Memorial Day is just around the corner. Everyone looks forward to Summer but it's always hard for me to say goodbye to the months of April and May and all the floral highlights they bring with them. Despite so much rain this year, Spring still put on a magical display, from the magnolias to the daffodils to the Yoshino cherry blossoms, to the tulips, the wisteria and the Kwanzan cherry blossoms. I didn't venture much past Central Park or the BBG this year, but those two parks are so full of Spring blooms that I didn't feel like I was missing anything important. I posted about the Brooklyn Botanic easter garden earlier in the season, but the end of season blooms were so incredibly beautiful, I had to share the garden again. Soon the garden will be filled with herbs and perfume flowers that we are able to touch and smell, but for now, the Fragrance Garden (and a bit of the Shakespeare Garden right next door) are just for looking. And that's okay with me.
