Sedona is a spiritual and wellness destination, known for its New Age practices and powerful energy vortexes. Every time we had visitors to Phoenix, we would make the drive out to Sedona to see the vibrant red rocks and to feel the healing energy.
While city of Sedona has a lot to offer, we rarely stayed for a meal and have never frequented a hotel or spa. The pull to the destination for us was the stunning scenery and below are the energy vortexes with the most beautiful views.
Chapel of the Holy Cross - a spiritual gathering space built into the rocks.
Bell Rock - recognized for its distinctive bell shape, this red rock butte is Sedona's most famous attractions for hiking and vortex energy.
Courthouse Butte - located near Bell Rock and known to locals as a place for deep spiritual transformation.
Cathedral Rock - one of the most powerful vortex sites with swirling energy.
Coffee Pot Rock - a red rock formation located at the base of Thunder Mountain with a striking resemblance to a coffee pot.
Airport Mesa - The best vantage place to see all of the rock formations at once and to experience a unique geology experience where low light reflects brilliantly off the minerals in the vibrant rocks.
Sedona's best hikes include Devil's Bridge Trailhead, Cathedral Rock Trailhead, Birthing Cave, Boynton Canyon Trail, Bell Rock Trail, and Seven Sacred Pools.
PS - according to Google AI, an energy vortex is a naturally occurring or spiritually imbued site believed to possess a concentrated swirling energy that can amplify spiritual practices (like meditation, yoga, gratitude, or prayer), enhance feelings of well-being, and promote healing. The locations are often sacred sites where people often report increased energy, mental clarity, physical or emotional healing, and a sense of peace. They are often found at historically sacred sites and places with unique geological properties (like Sedona, the Great Pyramid, Machu Picchu, and Stonehenge as well as Ashville, NC which shares the 33rd parallel with Sedona). Each vortex is thought to have a distinct type of energetic vibrations. Some are believed to emit energy upward (promoting action and goal achievement), some are thought to draw energy downward (fostering introspection and healing).
