There are three famous and noteworthy things to do when you visit San Antonio- The Zoo, The Riverwalk, and The Alamo. One Summer Saturday, in the early 2000s, we crammed them all into one glorious day of site seeing.
The San Antonio Zoo hosts many interesting animals, but we had a special place in our hearts for the hippos.
Next up was the world famous San Antonio River Walk. Rich in history and a genius bit a architecture for it's time, the riverwalk is a series of pathways and footbridges that meander along the river. Along the way, pedestrians can stop for a meal or a drink, take a river cruise, visit the theater or partake in some shopping. Everything happens along the river!
Last but not least, remember the Alamo. The "Shrine of Texas Liberty" is a site where 300 years of history converge, evolving from an 18th century Spanish mission into a global symbol of courage and sacrifice following the legendary 1836 battle.
