'Sconset Bluff Walk

'Sconset, My favorite Nantucket Neighborhood

Everyone has his or her list of favorite cities and favorite destinations (I have so many!) but I love to list my favorite neighborhoods.  The 'Sconset neighborhood of Nantucket is one of the best.  Amazing restaurants, gorgeous beaches, and cute little cafes & shops make the neighborhood truly unique.  Nantucket is one of my favorite cities, 'Sconset is one of my favorite neighborhoods, and the 'Sconset Bluff Walk is one of my favorite destinations.  So much to love in one little cliff walk.

Enter the bluff walk by hanging a right off Front St.  You'll immediately see perfect grey shingled cottages with overflowing window boxes and gates and garages covered in roses.  The yards all have white picket fences with hydrangea bushes trying to bust free.  If that wasn't gorgeous enough, all these houses overlook Steps Beach and the ocean.  The beauty was almost too overwhelming.  I visited in June and cannot imagine how the full bloom roses and hydrangea amplify the view even more.  Here are my favorite snaps from my June walk along the 'Sconset Bluff Walk.

Keep waking along the road after you exit the bluff walk and you'll eventually hit Sankaty Head Lighthouse.  See the famous lighthouse and more of my day trip to Nantucket in my June in Nantucket post.  Can't wait to see what other day trips we can throw together this summer!
