back in our happy place after a multi-year hiatus: Sea Island, GA

Sea Island Beach Club

Every September, since our friends were married on the island in 2012, we have been traveling to Sea Island for a long weekend.  Our days are spent lounging at The Beach Club pool, sipping Pina Coladas and making friends with the staff.  Our nights are spent back at the house, playing games, grilling food, and catching up with friends.  Due to the global pandemic, we missed a few years of this beloved tradition and were happy to head back, even with a much smaller crew for health and safety reasons.

We stayed on the property a few times and the rooms are stunning.  The Cloister, The Lodge, and the Spa are 5 star rated properties, worthy of every accolade.  Despite the high end accommodations, our preferred lodging in Sea Island is to rent a house on island.  We can bike to The Beach Club or spend time at our own private pool.  Private beaches are perfect for a morning walk or an evening watching the sunset.

While the tranquility of the private beaches is perfect for grounding ourselves in nature, if you want some fun in the sun, head to The Beach Club.  Southern Nautical themes abound in the open air lobby, the numerous pool decks and casual bars & restaurants.  We spend hours at The Beach Club, starting with iced coffees from the snack shack in the morning, lunch on the pool deck and as many cocktails with a floater our servers can bring us throughout the day.  My ideal way to do a beach vacation.
