Dunedin Brewery Tour
Our praise for Dunedin is frequent and strong and one of the many reasons we fell in love with this quirky town is because of the number of breweries in walking distance from downtown. Because we spent an entire week living like locals, we were able to spend quality time exploring the options.
Dunedin Brewery Tour: Cueni Brewing Co.
Cueni Brewing (pronounced Q-knee), are are known for their English Ales and Belgium beers but we tried every single draft on tap, thanks to their massive Florida shaped tasting board. All were incredible, but I especially liked their dill pickle sour!
Dunedin Brewery Tour: Caledonia Brewing
Next on the list is Caledonia Brewing, located in the old Dunedin Times building. We love a good second life for an old building (the hotel we stayed was the previous home of the local radio station!) and this one crafted brews with natural and organic ingredients.
Dunedin Brewery Tour: Soggy Bottom Brewery
Stop number 3 was Soggy Bottom Brewery where we hung out at the bar with owners who have "a passion for craftin".
Dunedin Brewery Tour: Dunedin Brewery
Dunedin's namesake brewery is also the oldest microbrewery in Florida! There is a spacious front patio and the brewery often hosts live music, making it a great place to spend a Saturday.
Dunedin Brewery Tour: HOB
Last but definitely not least, on our tour of Dunedin Breweries, is HOB Brewing Company. We first visited this brewery after the Dunedin 5k, when all the participants met up post race for cake and beer. If this sounds like the best 5k ever, I assure you, it was. We came back later in the week to try more of the brews and spend time on the massive patio. There are games, space for kids to run around, covered picnic tables, and a stage with live performances. HOB was one of our favorite places in all of Dunedin.
Dunedin Blue Jays
There is, of course, more to Dunedin than craft beer, and another amazing thing about the city is the minor league baseball team. The Dunedin Blue Jays play in the Toronto Blue Jays Spring training facility and an afternoon at the ball field is so much fun. Tickets are dirt cheap and I really got into cheering for the home team.
Dunedin Wall Art
The June temps were hot in this coastal Florida town, but the walk from place to place was made more pleasant, thanks to the large variety of wall art covering the city. I've already waxed poetic about the famous orange murals but other bright and happy murals can also be found throughout town. From the postcard Dunedin mural to the Skip's Bar Dogedin mural, the quirkiness and fun of the residents is evident.
