the Parker palm springs

Matt and I have spent quality time in the Palm Springs area of California, thanks to a close friend living there and our yearly pilgrimage to the Stagecoach festival.  While we have only stayed in a hotel once (thanks to our generous friends offering us a room), I made time to check out some of the more picturesque hotels in the area.  Welcome to The Parker.  My favorite hotel I've never stayed.

Like much of Palm Springs, The Parker makes a statement before you even walk in the door.  The massive orange doors equally make you stop to admire and welcome you forward.  Once inside, you're assaulted with color and pattern and textures that don't seem like they should go together, but somehow look perfect.  There are numerous seating areas throughout the lounge and each is completely different but exactly right.

Following a leisurely wander around the lounge (where I was Goldilocks, trying out each and every seating area until I found my favorite!), we headed to the hotel patio restaurant, Norma's.  Norma's serves breakfast all day, has gluten free and vegan options, and everything is served in a calming yet bright atmosphere.  Everything you want in Sunday Brunch.

We're headed back to Palm Springs in May and I'm looking forward to more outdoor dining, mid-century modern architecture, and sunshine!
